Role Summary:
As the Hydrogen Midstream Business Development Lead (m/f/d) within our Energy and H2 Europe organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the development and commercialization of hydrogen transport, storage, and distribution/refueling solutions across Europe. You will work at the intersection of strategy, technology, and partnerships to drive Hyundai’s hydrogen initiatives forward and accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
We want you to:
- Analyze European hydrogen market with a focus on midstream opportunities within distribution, transportation and refueling.
- Review and advise on regional policies, Hyundai Motor Group’s hydrogen strategies, and our product portfolio to identify new business opportunities across Europe.
- Build partnerships with European energy companies and enhance collaboration with current/potential partners to incubate midstream development pilot projects.
- Represent Hyundai in regional alliances, working groups, and strategic partnerships across the midstream ecosystem.
- Collaborate across multiple Hyundai business entities to identify synergies and connect hydrogen opportunities.
- Conduct initial feasibility studies, investment assessments, and financial modeling to evaluate strategic and financial viability.
- Work with regional and global stakeholders to validate business plans and lead implementation.
- Analyze and negotiate business structuring options – including strategic alliances and equity investments - to optimize CAPEX and long-term returns.
- Lead negotiations for midstream-related contracts and coordinate with internal teams to draft and review relevant legal documents.
About you:
- Degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent qualification)
- 8+ years of post-graduate experience in business development within the energy or hydrogen sector.
- Strong understanding of the hydrogen midstream market, particularly transportation and distribution opportunities.
- Solid knowledge of European hydrogen regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- End‑to‑end sales and project‑management experience.
- Experience working in a global matrix organization.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including business‑case and feasibility assessments.
