Job Description

Role Summary:

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities while supporting the continuous development of the Accounting function.
The role combines operational accounting responsibilities with process ownership and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Financial Accountant acts as a key contributor within Finance by strengthening accounting quality, improving processes, supporting colleagues, and driving efficiencies across the Accounting function. The position requires strong accounting knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the ability to coordinate activities across Finance and the wider business.

Key Responsabilities

Accounting Operations & Reporting:

  • Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate accounting issues with stakeholders and partners.

Reconciliations & Controls:

  • Maintain high-quality reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and standardization.
  • Support implementation of systems and process enhancements.
  • Participate in finance transformation initiatives.

Stakeholder Support:

  • Act as a key accounting contact.
  • Provide guidance on accounting matters.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across Finance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting.
  • Experience from month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls.
  • Experience from an international environment is considered an advantage.
  • Experience driving process improvements and change initiatives is highly desirable.
