Role Summary:
As the Field Technical Operations Specialist (m/w/d), you will provide expert technical support and lead the resolution of complex vehicle issues across European markets, ensuring high-quality pre-delivery actions, improving customer satisfaction, and driving continuous product improvement.
We want you to:
- Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshooting support to European markets, managing complex cases that require escalation beyond local diagnostic capabilities, including support for Technical Hotlines (e.g., RSCC - Global Service Support Center, Dealer Hotline, AVN - Audio Video Navigation)
- Coordinate technical investigations with dealers, national sales companies, engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective corrective actions.
- Monitor field performance and identify emerging issues, analyzing data from diagnostics, customer claims, and telematics to detect trends and propose preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Service Information, guidelines and training content, ensuring consistent repair standards across all European markets.
- Collect and consolidate input from all European markets to ensure the robust and efficient implementation of Field Campaigns, while securing the availability of accurate technical information and appropriate service tools to enable timely and effective repair execution across all markets.
- Lead the development and rollout of Technical Bulletins in collaboration with HQ, driving continuous improvements to enhance campaign efficiency and market fulfillment ratios.
- Manage Port Action Campaigns across all European NSCs, overseeing approval and release processes, ensuring proactive vehicle repair execution, and monitoring completion rates and performance based on market criticality.
- Monitor and report technical performance, providing weekly updates on key issues, trends, and resolution progress across European markets Support the GDS (Global Diagnostic System) and successful implementation of the new diagnostic tools.
- Facilitate weekly technical alignment meetings with distributors and factory stakeholders.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field; a Master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle electronics, powertrain systems or technical field support within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier or large dealer network.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and vehicle communication protocols, with the ability to interpret logs, DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), and technical data across various vehicle platforms
- In depth understanding of automotive systems including powertrain, chassis, ADAS, HV/EV technologies, diagnostics, and electronic control systems.
- Expert knowledge of OEM diagnostic platforms, software tools, and service information systems, as well as vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN – Controller Area Network, sensor data, and control unit communication)
- Strong capability in root cause analysis using structured methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.), test procedures, and interpretation of technical data, logs, and DTC patterns.
- Solid knowledge of Technical Service and Quality processes, including a strong understanding of campaign execution, with the ability to steer activities and recommend process improvements
- Familiarity with Field Quality processes, including issue escalation flows, containment actions, technical reporting, and cross functional collaboration with engineering, mechanics, and quality departments.
- Proven experience managing complex technical escalations, including root cause analysis, component testing and cross functional communication with engineering and quality teams.
- Experience in Automotive Campaign Management
- Knowledge of Technical Bulletin creation and documentation standards
- Strong English communication skills; additional European languages are considered an advantage
- Experience working in an international environment, ideally supporting multiple European markets
