Commercial Data and Insights Analyst

Role Summary:
To drive the digital transformation of HMUK’s sales operations and reporting by automating data processes, building scalable BI solutions, and providing actionable commercial insights. This role will identify process improvements, champion data governance, and empower the wider Sales Operations team to elevate key performance metrics.
We want you to:
- Commercial Insights: Transform, analyse, and interpret complex data sets to provide internal stakeholders with insights that drive strategic action and support the delivery of our national sales and profit targets.
- Forecast Reporting: Manage, optimise, and evolve the retailer network sales forecast process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to enable proactive performance management by senior leadership.
- Field Team Enablement: Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Field Team Visit Deck. Ensure our regional teams have access to dynamic, self-serve data that helps them influence retailer sales performance.
- Operational Reporting: Oversee the accurate and timely delivery of regular critical business and management intelligence, such as the End of Week (EoW) and End of Month (EoM) Reports. Champion the transition of these reports from manual
- Excel processes into automated ETL pipelines and BI dashboards.
- Data Automation and Architecture: Automate manual reporting processes, optimising both back-end data organisation and front-end accessibility for end-users.
- Data Governance & Quality: Champion data governance best practices across the organisation. Monitor and audit data quality to ensure accuracy and a single source of truth for all commercial metrics.
About you:
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power Query. Proven experience building data models, creating dashboards and graphical reports/presentations, and experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik). Familiarity with forecasting and prescriptive/predictive analytics is advantageous though not essential.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to understand how KPIs impact commercial performance. Capable of transforming raw data into a compelling commercial story. Automotive industry experience is advantageous though not essential.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of establishing credibility and translating complex data concepts into actionable narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Organised & Resilient: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads and thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment.
