Role Summary

As our Business Development Data Insights Manager, you’ll turn complex data into clear insights that help strengthen the financial performance and profitability of Hyundai’s UK retailer network. Combining financial, sales and market analysis with commercial understanding, you’ll identify opportunities, highlight risks and work collaboratively with retailers and teams across Hyundai Motor UK to drive practical improvements. You’ll lead the development of accurate, efficient reporting and forecasting tools, supporting informed business decisions, retailer development and sustainable long-term growth.

We want you to:

  • Monitor and analyse retailer composite, sales, market and operational data to assess financial performance, identify profit opportunities and provide early warning of actual or forecast losses.
  • Develop and maintain accurate dashboards, flash reports, forecasts, business-planning tools and management reporting that translate complex data into clear, prioritised actions for retailers, field teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Work with retailers and cross-functional teams to diagnose drivers of underperformance, agree corrective business plans and share best practice that improves sales conversion, margin, cost efficiency and sustainable profitability.
  • Assess the financial viability and profit potential of new and existing retailer operations, supporting retailer appointments, credit reviews, network planning, franchise standards and margin decisions.
  • Own the quality, compliance and continuous improvement of composite and commercial data, including validation, audit, supplier management, reporting governance and retailer submission performance.
  • Improve reporting efficiency and business visibility through automation, integrated data solutions, digital tools and appropriate analytics or AI capabilities, reducing manual intervention and enabling faster financial decisions.
  • Build retailer and stakeholder capability through coaching, workshops, accessible reporting tools and expert guidance on financial data, commercial insight and performance improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Undertake field-based engagement with allocated retailers to analyse financial and operational performance, identify profit improvement opportunities and implement targeted actions across new cars, used cars, parts and aftersales.
  • Identify, codify and deliver retailer best practice through training, coaching and performance programmes that improve margin, sales conversion, cost efficiency and long-term financial resilience.
  • Lead the effective regional delivery of the USA programme and support network development, franchise standards, retailer margin reviews and appointment decisions to strengthen sustainable retailer profitability.
  • Validate Balanced Scorecard outputs and oversee accurate forecasting, reporting and performance insight to enable timely, evidence-based commercial and financial decisions
  • Coach retailer Accounts teams to improve composite data quality and accounting controls where required
  • Manage and verify the data flows for accurate financial, commercial and risk reporting
  • Maintain reliable Balanced Scorecard, opportunity, business-planning, flash-reporting and risk-management outputs

About you:

  • You understand accounting, profit and loss, and how retailers manage costs and grow profits sustainably. An accountancy qualification is welcome, but not essential.
  • You bring experience in automotive retail operations and network development, turning performance insights into sound business plans and practical ways to improve profits.
  • You’re confident with numbers, making sense of complex financial, sales and market data to spot risks and opportunities and share clear recommendations and visuals.
  • You have advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and related Microsoft tools to build accurate financial models, reports and forecasts, and track results.
  • You lead with the bigger picture and results in mind, planning and organising varied work, balancing priorities and meeting tight deadlines without losing attention to detail.
  • You communicate, influence and negotiate effectively, build relationships across teams and challenge constructively to gain support for retailer financial and operational improvements.
  • You’re self-motivated, resilient and collaborative, keen to improve your own and retailers’ performance, and keep up with automotive market developments, including electric and alternative-fuel vehicles.
