Head of ESG - 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract (m/w/d)
Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a forward-thinking Head of ESG (m/w/d) to lead the development and governance of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability policies. In this role, you will define, implement, and report on the organization’s ESG strategy, ensuring all initiatives align with internationally recognized best practices and drive meaningful societal and environmental impact. You will oversee the evaluation and measurement of sustainability outcomes and social value for investments, operations, programs, and initiatives—ensuring every action we take is not only compliant but also future-ready and purpose-driven.

We want you to:

  • Lead ESG strategy implementation across business functions and regions.
  • Oversee compliance with global ESG standards (GRI, TCFD, CSRD, etc.).
  • Monitor ESG topics related to business operations (desktop research) and assess impacts.
  • Manage the RE100 program, including regional virtual Power Purchase Agreements (vPPAs).
  • Develop and track ESG KPIs; propose mitigation plans for ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee internal/external ESG communications and reporting, including to rating agencies.
  • Collaborate with Governance, Risk, HR, and Operations on ESG integration.
  • Lead employee ESG training and capability development.
  • Manage and mentor the ESG section team to drive results and alignment.

About you:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 6–10 years of broad professional experience, with deep expertise in ESG or sustainability and a proven record of delivering results.
  • 3–6 years of experience in planning and managing resources to achieve defined objectives.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Proven project management expertise, delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for influencing and inspiring others.t
  • Skilled in problem solving and change management within cross-functional, multi-national environments
