Automotive Safety Data Analyst (m/f/d)
Job Purpose
In your role as a Safety Data Analyst, you will support day-to-day operations of the European Safety Office including, but not limited to high-volume data collection, management, monitoring, and deep-dive analysis, facilitating recommendations of emerging safety-related issues to ESO management.
Last but not least, you will stay abreast of rising trends and other safety-related topics in the automotive industry and raising the awareness of ESO on where the industry is headed.
General Responsibilities
We want you to:
- Establish and standardize trends analysis processes for complex, text-rich, and voluminous datasets containing information on product quality issues occurring in the market.
- Act as European liaison for new IT system aimed to retain recommendations, analyses, and supporting data for management of inactive/active safety-related defect investigations.
- Monitoring/analysis of internal data sources (e.g. PIR accident reports, government complaints, warranty claims, Techline cases, Technical Service Bulletins) to identify any emerging issues relating to vehicle safety.
- Monitoring/analysis of external data sources (e.g. VOQ’s, competitor recalls, government investigations) to identify any emerging issues relating to vehicle safety.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to aid in formulating recommendations to open vehicle safety-related investigations on emerging issues, knowledge discovery, and proactive forecasting.
- Coordinate communication between the Data Review Committee and the Technical Review Committee on in-process proposals.
- Monitor new safety-related matters and rising trends in the industry and advising ESO leadership on best practices and potential risks.
- Consistently innovating new methods of trends analysis and problem-solving that stem from best practices and innovations from competitors or other industries.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g. finance, engineering, legal, CA) to continually resolve issues with data integrity and delivery or make recommendations for innovative improvements.

You should also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline; master’s degree would be a plus, but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical field emphasizing comprehensive analysis of quality data and metrics
- One or more years of experience in the automotive business, including, vehicle safety, design, testing, field reliability evaluation, and service is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend European regulations related to automotive safety.
- Ability to identify trends and outliers based on fundamental statistical modelling.
- Gather information from government, industry and other electronic resources.
- Develop charts, reports, and/or presentations summarizing findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to adapt to evolving IT systems in support of managing technical data.
