Job Purpose:

 

The role involves delivering industry leading training across the UK cohort of Technicians. Accrediting across Certified, Expert and Master curriculums predominantly for the Genesis Brand, however, using Hyundai modified skills, techniques and curriculums. Responsibilities include conducting training sessions, completing assessments, developing innovative materials, and participating in "Train the Trainer" programs. You’ll drive continuous improvement, evaluate training impact, and contribute to strategic projects. The role may also include UK, European and International Travel. The role is suited to an individual who understands the evolving automotive landscape, future diagnostic requirements, connected vehicles and telematics along with experience with EVs and high voltage systems.
 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver Industry Leading Training:  Facilitate technical training sessions across Certified, Expert and Master pathways, ensuring alignment with Genesis & Hyundai’s quality standards. Deliver 140 training days annually to meet the needs of the Authorised Repairer network.  
  • Engage and Support Stakeholders: Provide New Model and Internal Briefing training to both internal and external audiences, fostering mentorship and knowledge transfer.  
  • Develop Training Expertise: Work alongside the Technical Training Developer to create and refine innovative training materials, focusing on upskilling technicians to become effective trainers.  
  • Participate in "Train the Trainer" Programmes:  Attend Hyundai Motor Europe’s training events to integrate insights into training content and enhance the technician-to-trainer development process.  
  • Research and Innovate: Utilise technical resources like manuals and vehicles to improve training tools and ensure their relevance.  
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with colleagues to share insights, update materials, and maintain the delivery of high-quality training.  
  • Evaluate and Enhance Training: Assess the effectiveness of training programmes, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with current learning practices and industry standards.  
  • Achieve Accreditation: Complete the Hyundai Motor Company Accredited Trainer Programme within 24 months, demonstrating expertise in training delivery.  
  • Stay Current:  Keep up to date with modern learning methodologies and technologies through proactive research and development.  
  • Measure Training Impact: Assess training outcomes and recommend enhancements to align with stakeholder goals, supporting the transition from technician to trainer.  
  • Contribute to Strategic Projects: Participate in projects to support broader company and development objectives.  

Person Specification

 

  • Automotive Expertise: Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician (Level 3 or higher) with practical experience and a dedication to ongoing professional development.  
  • High Voltage & Alternative Fuel Experience: Experience with High Voltage or alternative fuel vehicles is highly desirable.  
  • Training Experience: A formal training qualification or at least three years of technical training delivery experience is preferred, though coaching experience with fellow technicians will also be considered.  
  • Presentation Skills: Strong facilitation and presentation abilities, capable of engaging audiences and ensuring clarity in training delivery.  
  • Assessment Credentials: IMI Assessor Accreditation or equivalent is advantageous.  
  • Blended Learning Knowledge: Understanding of blended learning techniques and how they can be applied to enhance traditional training methods.  
  • Organisational Skills: Proven ability to effectively plan and manage schedules to ensure the timely delivery of training.  
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.  
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in IT, particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, with a focus on creating effective and engaging training materials.
