Job Purpose 

 

The Product Press Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering strategic communications that promote Hyundai’s vehicles, innovations, and brand image to the media and public. This position serves as a key liaison with the automotive media, crafting compelling narratives that highlight technical features, design excellence, and market positioning. 

 

We want you to

  • Coordinate Daily Product PR Activity: Support the Head of Section by managing day-to-day tasks, including media liaison, scheduling, and team coordination to ensure the smooth operation of the Product PR function.
  • Create and Distribute Media Materials: Write press releases, compile press packs, coordinate the production of photography and video assets, and distribute materials to relevant automotive and technology media.
  • Manage Media Relations: Handle incoming media enquiries by providing accurate, timely responses; proactively pitch stories; and maintain regular contact with journalists and influencers to secure media coverage.
  • Plan and Execute Media Events: Organise smaller media drive events (e.g., SMMT Test Days) from end to end, assist with logistics and content for larger events, and host media to professionally represent Hyundai at both UK and international events.
  • Administer Press Fleet Operations: Manage press vehicle bookings, oversee vehicle preparation and de-fleeting, update specification sheets and press information, and promote appraisals to media to ensure optimal usage and exposure.
  • Maintain Media Platforms and Reporting: Regularly update the Media Newsroom with accurate product content; produce weekly reports on press fleet utilisation and monitor earned media coverage.
  • Develop Internal and External Relationships: Build strong working relationships with journalists, influencers, and internal departments (Brand PR, Marketing, etc.), ensuring alignment with Hyundai’s KPIs and overall brand strategy.
  • Monitor Industry Trends and Provide Input: Stay up to date with industry news and competitor activity, identify opportunities and risks for Hyundai, and contribute ideas and suggestions to maximise media impact.
