We are looking for a highly motivated Product Analyst to join the growing Product Management team at an exciting time for Hyundai Motor UK. Hyundai’s renewed product portfolio has positioned the brand with the youngest fleet age in the industry, and the brand continues to evolve with an exciting range of vehicles coming to market.

 

This role is pivotal in supporting Hyundai’s product planning activities by managing product data systems, conducting market analysis, and providing commercial insights to ensure Hyundai’s competitiveness in the UK market. You will work closely with the Product Category Managers to ensure that product pricing, specifications, and performance are optimised to meet Hyundai’s business objectives.

About this role:

The role is responsible for providing detailed reporting and market analysis on particular products in the Hyundai Motor UK range. This role will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of product systems on a day to day basis. In this busy and diverse role you’ll manage all aspects of the vehicle ordering, product information and dealer support systems, all helping to ensure that vehicles are built and priced correctly and in line with UK specifications for product launches.

 

You will be familiar with using a variety of systems and be adept using excel to an advanced level, creating  reports and drawing analysis will be part of the day to day activities. You’ll be a confident communicator and enjoy working with your direct team but also across the wider business. Job Purpose:

  • Support the vehicle product planning and development activities within your portfolio of Hyundai Motor (UK) Ltd products in order to support the achievement of HMUK’s annual and long term plans
  • Work with the Product Category Managers and Head of Product Section to plan each product in terms of price, specification and volume by trim, engine, option and channel mix over the product lifecycle in order to optimise net contribution margin
  • Responsible for the UK model setup in the relevant systems. You will take the strategic direction as set by the Product Category Managers and be responsible for the end to end project management of populating the supporting information within the HMUK systems
  • You will be responsible for the data provision of HMUK new models to the relevant 3rd parties including MVRIS/DVLA, Residual Value Setters, Insurers and various other involved entities
  • Reporting will form a large proportion of the role, you will be responsible for weekly/monthly reporting on HMUK’s product performance, and work with the Product Category Managers to analyse trends and resulting countermeasures to ensure HMUK’s products remain highly competitive
  • Work in close coordination with various other departments both internally at HMUK and also in HME to provide timely and relevant information on HMUK’s products
  • You will be responsible for local Market Intelligence, keeping on top of the latest industry news, trends and competitor intelligence as well as in the wider industry including infrastructure developments. Further, you will be responsible for regular reports and analytics using this information to provide timely briefings to the wider Product & Planning Team
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Populate, maintain and develop the product database, SAP systems, vehicle ordering systems and the relevant links to data providers and industry bodies
  • Work in close coordination with the Supply team to ensure all models are correctly setup and dealers are able to process vehicle orders with ease
  • Specification and pricing support, volume and mix forecasting support
  • Support internal partners in maintaining the strongest possible positioning for products in portfolio, including Sales Operations, Finance, Communications, PR, Events, Training and Aftersales
  • Support the Product Category Managers with specification and pricing decisions for factory order in line with introduction of new models
  • Working closely with the Incentive Management team to analyse order take and order bank trends and monitoring sales mix by channel and model trim compared to competitive basket.  
  • Tracking the model performance within segment and sales channel to plan on how to improve market position relative to competitors.
  • Communication support of all product information to internal parties and Retailer network
  • Participation in the forecasting team meetings to analyse and support sales forecasts to underline HMUK business plan
  • Support the development of project plans for all new product launches within portfolio including  strategic planning (lifecycle management) 
  • Build extensive knowledge of HMUK range as well as key competitors
  • Support the HMUK vehicle launch process for all new models in portfolio, including special editions
