Job Purpose
The role focuses on developing in conjunction with senior management across the Genesis brand, including but not limited to Brand Director and Head of Sales, Sales Campaigns and initiatives to achieve New Vehicle Sales volume and contribution margin. You will work in close collaboration with sales channel leads to provide the necessary tools to support delivery of new vehicle sales volume. You will also work in close collaboration with sales function(s), Finance and other business partners to minimise incentive costs across all sales channels to optimise volume and contribution margin. You will prepare and deliver quarterly campaign proposal to Genesis Motor Europe (GME) and ensure the necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner prior to campaign deployment. You will ensure that brand operates within the agreed incentive and contribution margin parameters. You will collaborate with all business partners including Hyundai Capital UK to build the necessary consumer products including the necessary retention programmes. You will work closely with product team to ensure robust monitoring of business competitiveness across all sales channels you will work in close collaboration with the planning and ordering team for new car supply, ensuring quarterly campaigns and production requests are aligned to support effective inventory management. You will ensure effective delivery and communication of the campaigns/sales initiatives in each sales channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development and sign off process of the Sales campaigns and initiatives, communicating appropriately across all levels of the business whether that be internally, regional headquarters or Retailer network.
- Own and develop finance strategies in conjunction with Hyundai Capital for each sales channel with clear monthly payment logic and price walks for additional product specification seeking to maximise contribution margin.
- Constantly monitor effectiveness of sales campaign in relation to daily order take and order bank analysis to ensure effective business performance, suggesting initiatives to further drive sales performance through campaign enhancements whenever necessary.
- Tracking of order take and order bank trends and monitoring sales mix by channel and model trim compared to competitive basket.
- Analysis of market performance to identify trends and determine risks and opportunities within each sales channel.
- Support the preparation of the monthly operating plan providing insight into latest business trends and future outlook by acting as a conduit between sales and planning.
- Evaluating competitive transaction offers in each sales channel and track competitiveness relative to basket. Ensure the regular business communication in relation to competitive position.
- Ensure class leading retention programmes to maximise retention opportunities
- Tracking campaign costs by offer to ensure achievement of budget and tracking contribution margin by version to ensure achievement of profitability target.
- Conduct monthly finance reviews to validate costs against business plan whilst identifying and reporting any deviations from the approved business plan with remedial actions as required.
- Tracking product lifecycle in collaboration with the product team to ensure effective run out and new model launch strategies.
- Tracking the model performance within segment and sales channel to plan on how to improve market position relative to competitors.
- Analysis of each model’s sales funnel, understand the conversion at each stage of the funnel in order to predict future order take requirements.
- Working in conjunction with the marketing team to continually review product and offer message in the marketplace including a full understanding of marketing metrics and how they could be used to influence and optimise future business performance.
- Work closely with Supply team and ensure that inventory levels are always managed within agreed tolerance levels.
Accountabilities:
- Complete campaign sign off for each quarterly campaign by the end of the second month in the proceeding phase.
- Sold order/stock analysis ensuring campaigns are targeted to maximise volume and profit whilst limiting build up of aging inventory.
- Creation of the Market Planning pack in advance of monthly Campaign Planning meeting and circulate to all attendees prior to the meeting
- Ensure incentive spend per unit targets are achieved
- Ensure model profit contribution margin targets are achieved
Person Specification
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills. The ability to “make things happen”
- Highly numerate with good PC skills and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
