Job Purpose
As the Head of Section, Commercial and Franchise Expansion, you will lead and implement (including its administration), all aspects of the GMUK retailer representation plan in line with the agreed strategies and processes. Lead, develop and manage the HMUK Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme and develop and implement the HMUK LCV representation strategy.
Through these programmes you will seek to enhance the GMUK / HMUK commercial objectives, brand presence, and customer experience, aligning with business goals, brand standards, and compliance requirements whilst supporting network performance, profitability, and long-term growth.
We want you to:
- Lead and implement (including its administration), all aspects, and in line with the agreed strategies, the Genesis and Hyundai LCV retailer representation plan and the Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme
- Ensure that all contracts, strategies, plans, and actions are negotiated, developed, and implemented in line with legal and brand governance, compliance, best practice standards and the business values of GMUK / HMUK
- Identify, engage, manage, and grow relationships with all key stakeholders in existing and prospective retailers, GMUK / HMUK teams, our affiliates and partner providers
- Feedback (observing confidentiality and legal requirements) on relevant market and industry intelligence
- Provide all agreed requests (e.g., reports; presentations; workflows; measurements etc) in relation to any aspect of Genesis representation; LCV and the Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme for any GMUK / HMUK colleagues, HMC, HME and group affiliates
- Define, agree, and deliver against operational and financial budgets, agreed plans and Service Level Agreement KPI’s both personally and for the department in relation to Genesis retailer representation; LCV and the Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme
- Identify and support efficiency improvements within and between GMUK, HMUK, our retailers, partner providers, GMC / HMC and GME / HME
- Enhance and ensure retailer compliance with all retailer training and development standards across all disciplines and in line with GMC / HMC and GME / HME requirements in relation to Genesis representation; LCV and the Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme
- Support the customer experience function to improve performance in customer (end user) satisfaction
- Contribute to the GMUK / HMUK relationship and performance improvement actions regarding retailer satisfaction as measured through the NFDA and GME / HME DRS
- Provide input into future retailing concepts, requirements, and trends in relation to Genesis; LCV and the Retailer Used Vehicle performance improvement programme
- Enhance, enforce and ensure retailer compliance with all franchised representation standards
About you:
- Experience within an automotive Retailer and/or OEM (Premium and /or LCV sector desired)
- Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to manage challenging situations
- Effectively influence, engage, and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders within automotive retailers, GMUK / HMUK internal teams and affiliates
- Enjoy a dynamic work environment and embrace/influence innovative ideas and change
- Ability to positively represent GMUK / HMUK with existing and prospective retailers, partner providers and wider audiences as required – Strong networking skills
- A practical and comprehensive level of financial and commercial awareness with strong analytical skills
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and adapt, sometimes at short notice
- Ability to manage your own time/diary aligned with business priorities
- Advanced levels of understanding and use of software applications in particular PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to travel to locations across the UK and Europe as required
- A confident, articulate, diligent individual who is a good influencer, can build and maintain strong relationships and can work on their own initiative as well as be an integral member of a team
